     Finding the coupling is one of the important tasks for the installation of the water pump. The purpose of the alignment is to make the center lines of the motor shaft and the pump shaft on the same straight line when the pump is working. The accuracy of alignment is related to whether the machine can operate normally. , Especially important for high-speed running water pumps.  

     Absolutely accurate alignment of two shafts is difficult to achieve. It is even more difficult to always maintain accurate alignment for a continuously operating machine. The uneven thermal expansion of various parts, the deflection of the shaft, the uneven wear of the bearing, and the water pump Displacement and uneven subsidence of the foundation are all reasons why it is difficult to maintain the shaft alignment between China and Germany. Therefore, when designing the water pump, it is stipulated that there is an allowable deviation value for the center of the two shafts. This is also required when installing the coupling. From a perspective, as long as the coupling can ensure the safe and reliable transmission of torque, the greater the allowable deviation of the two shaft centers, the easier it is to meet the requirements during installation.However, from the perspective of installation quality, the smaller the deviation of the centerline of the two shafts, the more accurate the alignment, the better the machine's operation, and the longer the service life.Therefore, the allowable deviation of the alignment of the two shafts when the coupling is installed cannot be regarded as the margin left by the installer's hasty construction.

XNUMX. Measurement method    

When installing the machine, it is usually after the center position of the water pump is fixed and the level is adjusted, and then the coupling is aligned.Through measurement and calculation, the deviation is analyzed, and the center position of the motor shaft is adjusted to achieve that the motor shaft and the water pump shaft are both concentric and parallel.


There are many ways to align the coupling, the commonly used methods are as follows:   

 1. Simple measurement method. Use a square and feeler gauge to measure the radial deviation of the outer circle of the coupling, and use a feeler gauge to measure the axial gap deviation between the two halves of the coupling. Shaft alignment.This method is simple to operate, but the accuracy is not high, and the alignment error is large. It is only suitable for the installation measurement of couplings with low machine speed and low alignment requirements.    

 2. Use the measuring method of center card and feeler gauge to find the center card used. There are many types of structure of center card (also called counter-wheel card). Choose the suitable center card according to the structure and size of the coupling.There is no uniform specification for the center card, and the fitter will make it by himself considering the requirements of measurement and installation.    

(A) Adjustable double measuring point pair wheel clamp fixed on the coupling with steel belt;     

(B) Non-adjustable double measuring point pair wheel card for measuring axis;     

(C) Adjustable double measuring point pair wheel clamp for measuring gear coupling;     

(D) Adjustable double measuring point pair wheel clamp directly fixed on the coupling with screws;   

(E) Adjustable single-point-to-wheel card with smooth cylindrical surface coupling;     

(F) There is an adjustable double-point wheel clamp for coupling with a smooth cylindrical surface; the radial clearance and axial clearance of the coupling can be measured at the same time by using the center clamp and feeler gauge. This method is simple to operate and has high measurement accuracy. , The measured gap value can be used to calculate the adjustment value, so it is more suitable.     

3. Dial indicator measurement method. Install the special fixture (counter wheel card) or magnetic meter seat on the semi-coupling (usually installed on the shaft of the water pump) as a reference, and use the dial indicator to measure the coupling The deviation value of radial clearance and axial clearance.This method greatly improves the measurement accuracy of coupling alignment.
