ROTEX GS is a three-part servo coupling backlash-free under prestress (elastomer coupling). The various hub versions and different Shore hardnesses determine the optimum coupling for each application in automation technology.

This servo coupling is applied wherever drives need to position precisely. In spite of its vibration-damping properties the coupling is torsionally stiff so that you do not have to cut back on precision even with highly dynamic servo drives. The CHINAMFG GS backlash-free elastomer couplings allow for simultaneous compensation of radial, axial and angular displacements. The backlash-free servo coupling CHINAMFG GS uses the construction kit system, it is available in a high variance of different hub types which can be combined within 1 coupling size.

The selection of the hub material depends on the size and it is composed of either aluminium or steel. Both frictionally engaged connections without feather keyway and positive-locking connections with feather keyway are available.

New high-performance spider for backlash-free servo coupling

KTR distributes a new spider considerably increasing the performance level of the backlash-free servo coupling type CHINAMFG GS with regard to temperature resistance and pressure resistance. The material is a newly developed “thermoplastic polyurethane” with the hardness degree „52 Shore D” and a temperature resistance up to 120 °C. Main applications are servo hydraulics and test bench technology.

ROTEX GS expansion hubs (hollow shaft coupling) are used when torques have to be transmitted through a hollow shaft, e. g. applications with short shaft distances or narrow mounting conditions.

With this hollow shaft coupling the easy, safe and frictionally engaged shaft-hub-connection is generated via a centric screw. The hubs are made of aluminium and the expansion mandrel is made of steel.

The double-cardanic CHINAMFG GS ZR3 is an intermediate shaft coupling (cardan shaft) with an intermediate pipe variable in length made of aluminium.

It is provided with half shell clamping hubs on both sides and can thus be radially mounted without displacing driving and driven components.

The intermediate shaft of our cardan shaft is variable in length and allows for transmitting the torque over a large axial distance. Our range of half shell intermediate shaft couplings includes both frictionally engaged connections without feather keyway and positive-locking connections with feather keyway.

The CHINAMFG GS HP (high-performance coupling) is a three-part, backlash-free high-speed coupling.

It was developed according to the highest standard for applications with higher speeds.

Subject to the closed design the high-speed coupling generates only minimum air turbulences resulting in only low noise generation even with highest load. The CHINAMFG GS HP (high-performance coupling) is available in various hub versions for different mounting conditions.

Its ability for axial plug-in combined with various hub geometries results in a compact coupling system easy to service with a high torque density.

The metal bellow compensates optimally for axial, radial and angular displacements with conformal torque transmission and low restoring forces. At the same time TOOLFLEX has a high torsional stiffness and a low mass moment of inertia. It is free from wear and maintenance and extremely easy to assemble.

Coupling refers to a device that connects 2 shafts or shafts and rotating parts, rotates together during the transmission of motion and power, and does not disengage under normal conditions. Sometimes it is also used as a safety device to prevent the connected parts from bearing excessive load, which plays the role of overload protection.

Couplings can be divided into rigid couplings and flexible couplings.
Rigid couplings do not have buffering property and the ability to compensate the relative displacement of 2 axes. It is required that the 2 axes be strictly aligned. However, such couplings are simple in structure, low in manufacturing cost, convenient in assembly and disassembly, and maintenance, which can ensure that the 2 axes are relatively neutral, have large transmission torque, and are widely used. Commonly used are flange coupling, sleeve coupling and jacket coupling.
Flexible coupling can also be divided into flexible coupling without elastic element and flexible coupling with elastic element. The former type only has the ability to compensate the relative displacement of 2 axes, but cannot cushion and reduce vibration. Coupling performance

1) Mobility. The movability of the coupling refers to the ability to compensate the relative displacement of 2 rotating components. How to select the appropriate coupling type

The following items should be considered when selecting the coupling type.
1. The size and nature of the required transmission torque, the requirements for buffering and damping functions, and whether resonance may occur.
2. The relative displacement of the axes of the 2 shafts is caused by manufacturing and assembly errors, shaft load and thermal expansion deformation, and relative movement between components.
3. Permissible overall dimensions and installation methods, and necessary operating space for assembly, adjustment and maintenance. For large couplings, they should be able to be disassembled without axial movement of the shaft.

H series coupling we produced is made of Hytrel. It has elasticity like that of rubber. It is excellent in absorbing vibrations and shocks. It also excels in resistance to heat, low temperature and oil.
